A Community Celebration
Since 2016, the Battle of the Badges has featured a basketball game between the Boston Police and Fire Departments, raising funds for cancer research. The event also includes motorcades for children battling cancer, who score in front of a packed house and receive an MVP trophy.
Special moments, like bringing Spider-Man and Black Panther for a child in 2019, make the event unforgettable. Boston landmarks light up in red and blue to honor the event, which is covered by every local news station.
